Oh well done Frank! That cool drink was very well-deserved! 😉

  2. Bridget says:

Been there, buddy. Couple weeks ago. Lost several pounds in the heat. Well deserved beer for you!

  3. Some people think teachers are actually on vacation when school is out.

  4. Lisa at Greenbow says:

You deserve several of those brewskies. Your end result is all neat and tidy. Good job.

    • bittster says:

Thanks Lisa, I hope it stays this way for a little while since I am completely ready for a break.
btw, I can’t figure out how I missed your blog for all these years, I love it! I need to get out more 😉

You earned that beverage, and your garden is gorgeous.

Photo three says it all. Way to go.

  7. My husband has roughly put down the first yard of mulch. I get to put it where I really want it the way I want it. The second yard is still in the pickup for my Sunday morning pleasure.

I hope you’ve been able to take another bite out of the mulching duties! The recent humidity and heat here have me rethinking any garden activities.
I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who deep down inside wants to do all the mulching themselves. I was offered help, but had to make a couple awkward excuses in order to not give up any mulch-control! I would let anyone cut the grass though 😉

  8. Alain says:

I don’t think I have seen July pictures of your garden when the lawn was so green!

    • bittster says:

Yes, I’m surprised myself! I need to include a photo from last year in the next post to show just what a contrast the green grass is to a ‘normal’ year. There are bugs, birds, and bunnies everywhere and I think life in general is enjoying this lush year.

  9. Peter/Outlaw says:

Nicely done! So, this is what you do for fun? We gardeners are a strange lot, aren’t we?

    • bittster says:

Thanks Peter, and I agree. There were a few times I was wondering why… and if anyone would have said how much they enjoy working in the garden I would have snapped! Sure beats walking on a treadmill with earbuds though!

  10. Annette says:

Fair play to you, Frank, no doubt the plants will thank you for it…actually they seem to do that already!

  11. You did a job there, brother! If it was hot and humid and the mosquitoes were biting you would have racked up even more gold stars.

    • bittster says:

Oh trust me, there were plenty of gnats and the heat and humidity was just right to make all the mulch dust and plant bits stick to me. The only joy was in dumping mulch on weeds and getting to say g’bye sucker!

  12. Torture — yes; but wasn’t it worth it? Your garden looks amazing! P. x

  13. Lisa says:

bahahaha that was awesome. Just think, now you can reenact that last picture for the next two months!

    • bittster says:

I’m working on it :). My biggest challenge lately has been all the humidity condensing on my cold beverage bottle. Do I get a coaster or not? These are the struggles I can deal with!

  14. LOL!! I do all my mulching in the fall and then just do touch ups in the spring. But your beds look great!

    • bittster says:

Thanks! I considered it my penance for not making it to the fling. Now I’m working on three hail Mary’s and cleaning out the garage and that might be enough to get me up to date for my next poor decision 😉
